Cut the Cable

Stop paying the cable companies for services you don’t need. You could start saving big money by getting rid of your cable. You could go to Amazon and purchase a digital antenna for local stations and purchase a Roku and have more entertainment for way less than a cable bill. Each month you will be saving big. The money that you save monthly could be put to better use for you. Savings, going out, investing, to you kids? Why give it to the cable company. The Roku is by far the best way to stream entertainment to your television. Roku is always adding more channels and updating it product line. So get rid of the cable. I did at least a year ago if not already 2 years ago and I don’t miss it.

I Stand with Rand

I Stand with Rand! I stand with Rand for some of the following reasons:

He stands up to protect Americans against Drones
He stands up for the Second Amendment
He stands for the Entire Constitution
He stands for States Rights
He Stands up for Hemp production
He stands up against mandatory minimum sentences on nonviolent drug crimes
He stands up against his own Party
He stands up against giving money that we have to borrow away to foreign governments
He stands with those who stand with us. (example The doctor in Pakistan who helped us get Bin Laden)
He stands against the NDAA
He stands for balancing the budget
He stands against the Federal Reserve stealing our wealth through inflation

I could name many more reasons to stand with Rand. I only wish there would be more politicians like him, in all parties.

Sam Adams Double Agent IPL

This beer is smooth and has a nice hop flavor. It has a nice clear gold color and a thin white head. If your a fan of IPAs you will love this IPL. I give this beer a Double Fist rating. This beer is available all year round, and because it by Sam Adams you will likely be able to find it. For information on the beer go to the IPL page. Sorry, the picture is blurry. Mint Stout by Mankato Brewery

This beer most of you won’t get the chance to try unless your in the Mankato area during the seasonal release. As you can see the beer is dark and has a tan head. It does have a mint smell and a small mint after taste. I give this beer a Raise a Glass rating. If you get a chance try this beer. Mankato Brewery Mint Stout

Coupons can be a good way to save money. You can do it to the extreme or find the occasional great deal. There are many good coupon sites and blogs to help you find the deals and save money. A few good ones are shop at home, coupons.com, and Hip2Save. Saving money on the things you need and going to buy is a no brain-er. The money you save adds up over the year and smartly invested or just saving you from debt and interest payment is helpful. Sunday papers usually have ads and manufacture coupons and can be well worth a buy. Some of these sites will help you find very cheap deals or even free items. Storing items that you bought in bulk, of great deals can save you though out the year as well. So bottom line use coupons, and you will have more money for other things.

The Twin Ports BrewFest

The Twin Ports Brew Fest had a lot of excellent choices of craft beers and wines. It also provided excellent entertainment with a concert by the Dropkick Murphys. If your near Duluth, MN this is a must go to yearly event. They had great beers from breweries around Minnesota and some from all over the United States. The Duluth area has a lot of breweries and they were well represented at this festival. Some of the better brews I had came from Schell’s out of New Ulm, MN, Surly from Brooklyn Center, MN, ODell from Fort Collins, CO. I had a great wine from Carlos Creek that I would recommend for all even if your not a wine drinker. It is their Apple Blueberry wine. If you can’t make it to Duluth, I would recommend going to a local brew fest. If you’re a beer fan you can’t beat trying all the different high quality beers from all kinds of breweries.

I came across a website that gives me cash back while I shop online. It pops up when I am shopping on a site and will give me special cash back bonuses. I don’t have to remember to go to a special site, if there is a discount or cash back it will pop up. I have earned cash back and they sent me a check! The site is called shop at home. Give it a try.

The Media

Have you ever notice that all the major news media cover the exact same events and use the exact same language to describe a given situation? The mainstream media has failed to be objective. They have failed to cover real news events because celebrity gossip may give them better ratings. I like watching some sports, however sports seem to be a large part of the news and is overall unimportant. The media has also made opinion news factual. While someone may give an opinion, it doesn’t in it self make a story. If people want change in Washington we will need to create change in our media. The government has worked with media to spin and shape the news. When people upset with the government comes along like the tea party or occupied movement the media demonize the movements. The media has filled the airways with unimportant stories while most people couldn’t tell you what is going on outside of the country, unless it has to do with a royal pregnancy. Question more, demand more, or you will receive more of the same.

Victories for Liberty

There was some victories for Liberty with this election. To start with, Marijuana was legalized in Colorado and Washington. States are standing up for their rights and against the failed policies of the federal government and the war on drugs. Massachusetts passed Medical marijuana, these states are doing this even when the federal government is conducting raids on other legal dispensaries. Marriage freedom had a good day as well passing in Maryland and Maine. Minnesota stopped an anti gay marriage amendment to it’s constitution. Marriage is a contract between adults and the state should stay out of it. The state should not discriminate! Finally some liberty candidates were elected and re-elected. Thomas Massie, Justin Amash, and Ted Cruz to name a few. Liberty is coming, it is just taking baby steps.

Mitt may need Paul supporters to win

Mitt Romney likely didn’t think he had a chance to win Minnesota. However, in a new poll he was only three points behind President Obama and that was in the margin of error. Minnesota has 10 electoral college votes. That is more than many of the swing states. I now wonder if maybe, he would like to try to make up to the Ron Paul supporters. Now that Ron Paul supporters could help him win the state of Minnesota, and if Minnesota is out of Obama’s tally, Romney would likely win the election. Obama is concerned enough to send Bill Clinton to do some last minute campaigning in Minnesota. There could be some time for Mitt to make up, a good jester would be to have the party remove the rules that the RNC pushed through to limit the strength of the grass roots. If all the polls are right this will be a close election. It would be smart of Mitt Romney to try to mend fences with the Paul supporters. Some of them may be swayed to support Mitt if they felt they had a reason.
